Spring Vignettes: Bunnies and Lavender

Bunnies are still on my hook and in my etsy shop because there is a correlation between the season and bunnies. Just visit your local grocer. I saw a whole aisle of chocolate bunnies and the like at my local grocery chain yesterday.

I really wanted to make a bigger bunny … larger than the small egg bunnies I recently featured. I dug up an old bookmarked pattern and scrounged my stash for a suitable fiber. I’ve made these in pink and blue in the past but a part of me wanted to make them in a natural color.

I had a Caron cake with a subtle change in colors that was ideal for this bunny, and of course, the perfect pattern by Craft Passion. And voila!

While working on the bunny, I ran across a lavender pattern on YouTube by Mushyy. (Because all crafters are always looking for more ideas, even when they already have a to-make list longer than South America). I thought, “Are you kidding? Lavender?” I followed along and made the two in the image below. I know people who ADORE lavender. Personally, I like lavender as a fragrance and I won’t hesitate to use bath and body products containing lavender oil. But most of all, I love the way it looks. It stands 1-3 feet tall, in various shades of purple, full of delicate boldness.

When I put the bunny and the lavender together in this Spring vignette, it makes me think of all the things that will grow as winter fades away. The trees are already in full bloom and my husband just told me that our azaleas were budding. And it won’t be long when I will see at least one or two bunnies while on my morning walks.

Happy Spring!
