I’m busy plugging away on my laptop (for this blog) while listening to rain patter on the porch roof just outside my office window. Suddenly, the drops turn into soft “thumps.” I jump to my feet and pull back the window sheer so I can get a better look.
I gasp as I see ball after ball of yarn falling from the sky into a luxurious heap of yarn in my front yard. Balls of yarn in every different color, texture, and fiber blanketed my lawn, with more and more falling from the sky – a colorful, fluffy cascade thumping off of my roof and bouncing gently among its peers.

As I admire the beautiful, surreal sight, I get the immediate urge to gather it all up before it disappears! I quickly glance around my office to determine which basket or container I can lay my hands on to collect it all, and I wonder where I could store it all without having to rent storage space!

“The attic is not a good place,” I think to myself. “Too many attic spiders.”
“I could put as much as I can into large garbage bags and shove them under the bed in the guest room!”
Yes! That was the plan.

As I laid out my plan to myself, my thoughts shifted to what I could make with the glorious fiber. On my list of things to make, I currently have several amigurumi and summer apparel. I examined the yarn through the window … yes, there is yarn out there suitable for making both amigurumi and apparel, in addition to blankets and wash cloths and oh! The list goes on and on.

Suddenly, I shifted in my office chair and my eyes flew open.
Outside, the rain still pattered on the porch roof.
Best daydream ever. Or was it a power nap? Whatever it was, it was the best.
